Privacy policy
Last updated: 21 October 2026
This policy explains how PlugPulse ("PlugPulse", "we", "us") collects, uses and shares personal information when you visit plugpulse.net, sign in to the PlugPulse app, or use any PlugPulse product, export or API (together, the "Services"). By using the Services you agree to this policy.
1. Who is responsible
PlugPulse is the controller of the personal information described here. You can reach us at privacy@plugpulse.net.
2. What we collect
Information you give us. Your email address and, if you share them, your name, company, role and anything you send us in messages, feedback or support requests. If we offer paid plans, billing details such as company name, address and VAT number. Card details are handled by our payment provider and never reach us.
Information collected when you sign in. Sign-in uses a one-time code sent to your email. Our sign-in provider records your email address, the time of each sign-in, your IP address and basic browser and device details, and sets the cookies needed to keep you signed in.
Information collected when you use the Services. Pages and screens you view, searches, filters, downloads and API calls, along with timestamps, IP address, browser, device and approximate location derived from your IP address. We collect this through server logs, and we may add cookies or similar analytics tools to understand how the Services are used.
Information from others. If a colleague invites you, we receive your email address from them. We may also receive business contact details from partners, resellers or public business directories.
Charger data is not personal data. The data PlugPulse provides describes charging equipment and how it is used over time. It does not identify drivers, and we do not try to link it to anyone.
3. How we use it
- To provide, run and secure the Services, including sign-in, access control and fraud and abuse prevention.
- To support you and answer your questions.
- To understand how the Services are used, and to improve them and build new products and features.
- To send you service messages and, where the law allows, news, offers and product updates. You can opt out of marketing at any time.
- To bill you, keep business records and meet our legal obligations.
- To enforce our terms and protect our rights, our users and the public.
- To create aggregated or de-identified information that no longer identifies you. We may use and share that information for any purpose.
4. Legal bases (EEA and UK)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: contract, to provide the Services you asked for; legitimate interests, to secure, understand, improve and promote the Services and to run our business, where those interests are not overridden by yours; legal obligation, for tax, accounting and similar duties; and consent, where the law requires it (for example, some marketing emails or non-essential cookies). You can withdraw consent at any time.
5. Who we share it with
- Service providers who work for us, such as hosting, content delivery and sign-in (Cloudflare), cloud storage and servers, email, analytics, customer support and payments. They may only use the information to provide their service to us.
- Your organisation, if your access is provided through your employer or another organisation.
- Professional advisers such as lawyers, accountants and auditors.
- A buyer or successor, if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, sale of assets or similar transaction. Your information may be transferred as part of it.
- Authorities and others, when we believe the law requires it, or to protect our rights, safety or property, or those of others.
- Anyone else, with your consent or at your direction.
We do not sell your personal information.
6. Cookies and fonts
The public website does not use advertising cookies. Our sign-in and security provider sets cookies that are needed to sign you in and protect the Services. The website loads fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser sends your IP address to Google when a page loads. If we add analytics or other non-essential cookies, we will ask for consent where the law requires it. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, but parts of the Services may stop working.
7. International transfers
We and our service providers may process your information in countries outside your own, including outside the European Economic Area and the UK. When we do, we rely on adequacy decisions, the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or other safeguards the law allows.
8. How long we keep it
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and for as long afterwards as we reasonably need it for the purposes in this policy, such as resolving disputes, enforcing our agreements, keeping business and tax records and meeting legal obligations. Logs are usually kept for a shorter time. Aggregated or de-identified information may be kept indefinitely.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee the security of your information.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent. In the EEA and UK you can also complain to your local data protection authority. California residents may have rights under the CCPA, including to know, delete and correct, and not to be discriminated against for using them.
To use any of these rights, email privacy@plugpulse.net. We may need to verify your identity first. Some rights have legal limits, and we may keep information where the law allows or requires it.
11. Children
The Services are for businesses and professionals. They are not meant for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
12. Other websites
The Services may link to websites and services we do not run. Their own privacy policies apply, and we are not responsible for them.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and change the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use your personal information, we will tell you by email or in the app where the law requires it. If you keep using the Services after a change takes effect, the updated policy applies.
